Williams donned his biking gear and straddled his bike to brave the elements. "There was snow on them there hills" but not to be deterred and seeing the opportunity to get in training he set off arriving at the agreed meeting point at precisely 11.00am. He secured a table near a roaring real fire and settled down to wait for the other 3 intrepid explores.
Edwards was the next to turn up he walked through the door in jeans and T shirt and it was pretty clear he had bottled the bike. It was good to catch up and they were so busy chatting that they lost track of the time. at 11.50 Morris walked in, again looking suspiciously like he had bottled the bike. Still at least he had one up on Swanny who had obviously bottled getting out of bed and was a no show.
In the end we took a vote and decided that we would just "wing it", choosing instead to make a list of things to take, the list started well and was only derailed when Edwards asked if we were taking our onesies? It was an uncomfortable silence, followed by an unconvincing laugh and declaration that he was "only joking"
Lunch arrived, all 3 going for a healthy option.
Only 33 days to go! We cannot wait. Below we can see the travelling trio braving the elements outside the Cat and Fiddle pub. We all agreed it was 'f'ing cold. Edwards ran off to his Passat shortly after this photo was taken to switch on the heated seats, Morris went to turn the engine on his Mondeo to get it warmed up and Williams popped on his balaclava (nothing to do with the temperature, he just likes balaclavas)
