Team meeting

Team Italian Jobbie have picked a slightly cold time to travel around Europe with temperatures dropping to 2 deg c when they will be camping in the evening. Today's meeting at the Cat and Fiddle pub near Macclesfield was therefore an opportunity to get in training and harden up for the elements.

Williams donned his biking gear and straddled his bike to brave the elements. "There was snow on them there hills" but not to be deterred and seeing the opportunity to get in training he set off arriving at the agreed meeting point at precisely 11.00am. He secured a table near a roaring real fire and settled down to wait for the other 3 intrepid explores.
Edwards was the next to turn up he walked through the door in jeans and T shirt and it was pretty clear he had bottled the bike. It was good to catch up and they were so busy chatting that they lost track of the time. at 11.50 Morris walked in, again looking suspiciously like he had bottled the bike. Still at least he had one up on Swanny who had obviously bottled getting out of bed and was a no show.

We ordered some lunch and while we were waiting, Edwards whipped something out under the table which Williams could not see, what ever it was it certainly grabbed Morris's attention. So much so he stared and nodded at it for a good 5 minutes. After the novelty had worn off the they set to with the planning, it took a while before they realised the maps were in German and that neither of them could read text without the aid of a magnifying glass anyway.
In the end we took a vote and decided that we would just "wing it", choosing instead to make a list of things to take, the list started well and was only derailed when Edwards asked if we were taking our onesies? It was an uncomfortable silence, followed by an unconvincing laugh and declaration that he was "only joking"
Lunch arrived, all 3 going for a healthy option.

Only 33 days to go! We cannot wait. Below we can see the travelling trio braving the elements outside the Cat and Fiddle pub. We all agreed it was 'f'ing cold. Edwards ran off to his Passat shortly after this photo was taken to switch on the heated seats, Morris went to turn the engine on his Mondeo to get it warmed up and Williams popped on his balaclava (nothing to do with the temperature, he just likes balaclavas)

Roll on good Friday.

5 weeks 6 days to go, but who's counting

Its been a while since our last post so what have we all been up to.

Edwards has brought a new helmet and embraced the new 'youtube' revolution
Morris started cleaning the Bird and got a bit carried away

Williams met up with an old mate for a drink

"let go of my hand you freek" - he's a card isn't he

And Swanny? Well, he is having problems with his messenger app and we have not heard from him in a while

Besides that we are all meeting for a beer at the Cat and Fiddle next Saturday but this time we are really going to knuckle down to the planning.

Edwards bike is in for a "service". That's a "BMW" service. They have already identified the need for a new frame, wheels, engine, tank, fairing and electrics. Comes with a free valet though.

Williams has started saving for the Ducati service.

Oh yes, and its only 5 weeks and 6 days to go
