What a fantastic day. Hugged the coast all the way into La Spezia. Stopping at the beach to brew a cup of tea. We are getting the hang of this filtering 'when in Rome'. The strategy is is quite simple,point and shoot and hope the drugged up Vespa rider coming the other way bottles it before you do. Then we found some of the most amazing roads we have ever ridden, so good in fact that Williams ended up having a bit of a brown trouser moment when he realised that a) he was not Valentino Rossi and b) the sports touring tyres he has on his bike have there limits, c) the drop off the side of the road was about 200 metres, still, it gave Edwards who was following a chuckle. We stopped in Sestri Lavante for a couple of coffees and booked ourselves into a b&b in La Spezia called Lavante Blue. What a find, lovely family that own it, massive garage to put the bikes in, free breakfast, free wifi and massive rooms all for buttons, not actually buttons but not much more, why did I bring a tent?
